Fontavera Pinot Grigio Delle Venezie DOC (12pk)
More about Fontavera Find a stockist Region: Veneto Summary: Fontavera wines are crafted by winemaker Andrea Sartori, the great-grandson of the founder of the still family owned Sartori di Verona Winery in 1898; now considered one the most important wineries of the North-East. Andrea has strongly voiced his concerns of the impact of climate change and advocated the need to support the future of organic viticulture combined with higher altitude plantings. The wines of Fontavera are a direct result of his ambition, seeking out older, organically farmed vineyards grown on higher, cooler sites. Winemaking: All hand-picked and hand-sorted before whole bunch pressing to 100% stainless steel for fermentation. After an uneventful ferment to dryness the wine spent a short period on lees to build mouth-feel and flavour complexity before being bottled. Vintage 2021: 2021 Vintage: A vintage which produced high quality fruit and low yields as a result of warm weather and less than average rainfall. The reduced rainfall during the harvest period reulted in less disease pressure and producers were able to pick clean fruit at full ripeness. An exciting vintage for fruit purity and power. Tasting Note: The 2021 Pinot Grigio is an aromatic wine displaying lemons, fresh pear and wet stone. Spending a short time on lees has softened the wine and delivered a layered, textural mouthfeel whilst maintaining the racy acidity we expect of the region. Best consumed in its youth, this wine will partner well with fresh seafood, goats cheese dishes and antipasto. The below information is available for stockists of this product. Fuzzy Bare Fuzzy Bare Pinot Gris Piquette (6pk)
Region: Australia Grape Variety: Pinot Gris Winemaker: Aaron Mercer Alcohol: 4.0%
Summary: Organically grown, no additives, vegan and moderate in alcohol 'Fuzzy Bare' is the new kid on the block- fizzy, fun and ready to drink! Despite being the newest hottest kid on the block, piquette dates to ancient Greek and Roman times. It enjoyed a renaissance in the 19th century when phylloxera decimated French vineyards, making grapes so scarce every ounce of the precious fruit was used. Made from adding water to bare pressed grape skins and left to ferment, this low-alcohol, refreshing, and slightly fizzy drink Was named ‘piquette’ (prickle) and became the standard for vineyard workers at the lunch table. Winemaking: Made using the left over skins that have been pressed off from Slinky Bare and CowPunk wines. Water is added to the press where it is left for 12 hours to interact with the skins. The solution is then pressed to tank and the residual sugar fermented out to dryness Tasting Note: Aromatics of red berries and blood orange. The palate is loaded with fresh cut strawberries and sherbet that combine with a green apple acid line to make a beautifully refreshing naturally lower in alcohol beverage. More about Tread Softly Find a stockist Grape variety: Pinot Grigio
Summary: Tread Softly is a contemporary range of wines that are naturally medium in weight and lower in alcohol. Tread Softly is dedicated to reducing its carbon footprint and chooses sustainable vineyard management and winemaking techniques to ensure its production has a minimal impact on the environment. For every case of Tread Softly sold, the brand proudly commits to planting an Australian native tree – to date, that is over 1.3 million trees. Made by using the high vacuum low pressure distillation method, this range of zero alcohol wines are hand-crafted using only high-quality grapes from South Australian vineyards ensuring the wines remain vibrant and full-flavoured.
2023 Vintage: Spring was cooler than usual and with more rain events bringing soil moisture levels up. Summer likewise was cool yet with enough sunny days to enable beautiful albeit slower ripening. This made for a later vintage than prior years, but the resultant fruit quality is very, very good.
